Surabaya: The First Month

First, I'd like to say sorry for lack of updates a while back. Here, making this post, I wanna tell you the reason why. Another reviews will be coming up soon, but right now, lets hear out the babbling about my amazingly new life *if you want to*.

Okay, for people who haven't known already, I just started my college life last August, mid-August to be exact. Oh, I'm taking Medicine in Airlangga University, Surabaya, thousands of miles away from my long-time hometown, Jakarta. It was okay and so-so at first to leave my family, friends and all the familiar surroundings I've used to and move to this strangely new city. But after a few days and weeks, it got rough. I should stop right here, don't wanna get too emotional hahaha

The campus' orientation was a bit of a bland and kinda boring. You know, introduction of Airlangga, the meaning of being a college stud, Airlangga's vision and mission, and the whole shebangs. The faculty's orientation, on the other hand, was..... beyond words. Lots of pressures were coming from lots of places. The seniors, the fact that I was fasting at the time, living on my own for the first time in my entire life, the freakin heat, Javanese language that I am still feel strange with, and lots of other reasons. It was like one of the most stressful moments in my life. And yet, after it's finished, I kinda miss that moment. To get to know lots of new friends, individuals and new atmosphere, working on projects till late at night, etc. I'm not saying that I want to do it all over again, though. I mean, it was a precious experience that I will never ever forget.

From September 14, I was "officially" a college student here in Airlangga. Different from the reguler class (I'm taking the international program), I'm having moduls for my classes. So these last 4 weeks, I've only studied Religion and Civics. Got an A for Religion and hoping the same score for Civics too. So far, it wasn't really occupying. Well, it's a different story for students clubs and orientation's leftovers. There are still recruitment projects from 2 clubs I want to join, and also the obligation from orientation to make social events. And yes, I almost forgot, this big competition that my faculty will hold next Nov and I'm taking part in the committee. So to conclude it: I am totally busy.

So that's that. Once again, I am terribly sorry if you guys miss Vampibots (is there anyone? haha) Hopefully I can update it again the way I used to do. But for now, just bear with me.

PS: Just so you know, I'll change the review system (again) for my blog. Not gonna use quotes anymore on the title of my posts. I know it's been like my signature and stuff, but I got tired of that. Ha! There'll be few changes but not really significant ones, so you probably won't notice it. Sorry for being inconsistent. Hope it won't stop you to read my reviews :) Enjoy!

Everything happens for a reason..

For all of my schoolmates, mungkin udah tau tentang satu masalah yg bikin heboh kemaren. Karena gw berjanji gak bakal ngomong2in lagi, jadi gw gak bakal bahas. Yang bisa gw bilang sih, Alhamdulillah udah case closed. Semoga aja kedepannya semua2nya jadi lancar, ga ada halangan dan semua orang udah legowo untuk melupakan masalah ini, ambil aja hikmah nya ya.

Ngomong2, gw kemaren nonton di tv salah satu episode LOST yang ternyata episode di season 5. Dan gw pikir sepertinya cool juga nih acara dan lagi2 telat juga ya gw nontonnya. Jadi deh gw beli dvd nya yg complete first season. Yea, gw skarang lagi addicted bgt sama Lost. Cerita nya bagus dan dari episode pilot nya sendiri udah cukup mengundang orang buat nonton. (Walaupun udah banyak yang tau) Cerita nya tentang sekelompok orang yang survive dari sebuah plane crash dan terdampar di satu pulau misterius. Seiring mereka nge reveal misteri2 dan kejadian2 aneh di pulau itu, setiap episode nya juga ada bagian flashback2 para tokoh yang tiap2 episode beda2. Itu mungkin salah satu alesan Lost tuh seru. Semoga duit gw masih cukup untuk ngebeli sampe season 5 nanti hahaha

Gw juga udah cukup mengantongi beberapa DVD yang baru dibeli dan yang belom gw tonton, jadi dalam waktu dekat, gw bakal nge review film lagi hahaha see ya soon!

I'm turning 17!

31 March 2009, the day I turned 17!!!

Thanks guysss for the awesome & disgusting surprise! Lo semua berhasil menceburkan gw di kolam ikan biadab itu dan mengotori baju gw dengan tepung & telor. TOP NOTCH deh gw kasih rating 10/10 hahaha apa coba. Thanks buat semua doa2 nya, trus temen2 yang udah ngasih ucapan di Wall Facebook dan juga lewat sms, thank you so much!!!!! Its so hard to reply all of your messages, made me kinda tired of saying Thankyous but hell yeah I meant all of that!! Well then, its my 17th birthday, In Indonesia, I'm considered to be officially legal. Watch out!!!! Hahahaha

Here comes the studytour........

Yep, tomorrow I'll be on my way to Bali-Bromo-Jogja. A very long-awaited event since I was in tenth grade. Hampir muncul keraguan dulu kalo study tour kelas XI gak jadi gara2 sedikit insiden taun lalu, tapi ternyata jadi juga. Walaupun di tunda tapi yang penting jadi sih.

Sayangnya, gara2 diundur, study tour jadi bentrok sama Java Jazz. Karena nntn Jason Mraz di Java Jazz bisa jadi a-once-in-a-lifetime experience, gak mau lah gw lewatin, jadi pas hari Jumat pagi, gw bareng 'geng' JavaJazz -hahaha- balik duluan. Ya cuman ketinggalan satu hari doang pas studytour di jogja nya, yang penting sih dapet Bali nya hahaha

Seperti yang gw duga, hari ini, Jumat, 27 Februari 2009, yakin bgt di setiap kelas 50% ga masuk sekolah. Mungkin satu angkatan kali.. Yea yea, I didnt go to school today, guilty as charged! Setelah denger2 info dari temen yang masuk, kelas gw, XI IPA 3, yg masuk cuman 19 orang. Out of 40. Bahkan ada yang masuk cuman 16 orang. Berasa sekolah privat deh 28 wkakakak

Apa yang gw lakukan dirumah? Sebenernya sih gw masuk ga masuk sama aja. Tapi gw males bangun pagi nya sih jadi ga masuk deh, dengan alesan istirahat... Sampe jam 4.15, kegiatan gw hari ini:

• Bangun jam 8 pagi
• Ngenet dan bercengkrama dengan sesama rekan2 yang tidak masuk
• Langsung nntn Platoon, filmnya Oliver Stone. Dan gila emang salah satu film perang terbaik sepanjang masa.. Ntar deh gw bikin reviewnya
• Ke Giant buat beli2 barang2 yang sebenernya ga perlu2 amat. Kenapa ke Giant, gak ke Carrefour? DVD! Gw beli Grey's Anatomy sama Criminal Minds yang paling baru, Role Models (this is not another ANTM thingy, but a comedy starring Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd) trus untuk yang kedua kalinya gw beli Slumdog Millionaire (parah gw ngabis2in duit aja!!!)

And now I'm gonna shut my mouth and start to pack things up. Wish my studytour going well, ok! Hope your next week experience will be as kickin-ass as my trip going to be hahaha... Hasta la vista, baby!
